Race
Comments: GOLDIKOVA (IRE) pulled a bit early, stalked inside, lacked room just off the rail leaving the second turn
and until nearing the eighth pole, split rivals with a quick burst to gain the lead and won clear under some urging. KIP DEVILLE
stalked inside then a bit off the rail into and on the second turn, was in a bit tight briefly leaving that turn, came out
off heels three deep into the stretch and finished willingly. WHATSTHESCRIPT (IRE) unhurried and angled in early, saved ground
off the pace, swung out into the stretch and gained the show late outside. PRECIOUS KITTEN stalked outside a rival, came three
deep into the stretch, gained the advantage outside foes in midstretch, was not a match for the top pair and just lost third.
U S RANGER chased inside then a bit off the rail leaving the second turn, came out a bit in the drive, split horses in midstretch
and was outfinished for a minor award. AWESOME GEM chased between horses, was in a bit tight three deep into the stretch and
split rivals on the wire. WAR MONGER allowed to settle outside a rival then off the rail, came out five wide into the stretch
and could not summon the necessary response. BOLD CHIEFTAIN chased three deep for six furlongs, came four wide into the stretch
and also lacked the needed late kick. THORN SONG sped to the early lead, angled in and set the pace a bit off the rail then
inside, fought back leaving the second turn and in the stretch and weakened in the final furlong. DAYTONA (IRE) stalked outside
a rival, bid alongside the pacesetter leaving the second turn, put a head in front into the stretch, was between foes in midstretch
and also weakened. SHAKIS (IRE) saved ground chasing the pace, moved up along the rail into the stretch to loom a threat,
was in tight along the fence through the final sixteenth and dropped back.
